He is the Chief Investment Officer of Aruya Ventures, a Doha-based group of companies with investments across multiple sectors including hospitality, real estate, and oil & gas. In parallel, he is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Saraya Capital, a multi-family office focused on real estate investment and asset management, with mandates including the asset management of La Fonda Heritage Hotel in Marbella, Spain.
After a successful career in luxury hospitality, followed by real estate advisory and investment banking, Bernardo established the Otium Group in Málaga Province, Spain, in 2012. The group continues today through Otium Clinics and Otium Medical, while Otium Lifestyle Management and Otium Residences merged with the Dolce Vita Group, creating Dolce Vita Lifestyle Management and Dolce Vita Homes.
From 2008 through 2011, Bernardo was based in Doha as head of real estate investment & advisory for Qatar’s largest investment bank, QInvest, where he was involved in high-profile transactions exceeding USD 10 billion.
These included advising on Doha Festival City, acting as financial advisor on the acquisition of Harrods in London, the acquisition of a 25% stake in a major mixed-use project in Lusail, Qatar, managing and disposing of a large office portfolio in France, contributing to the development of The Shard in London, and transactions in Paris, Istanbul, and London’s hospitality sector (Sanderson and St Martins Lane hotels).
