Mr. Mohammed Saif Al-Sowaidi

Chief Investment Officer, Americas, Qatar Investment Authority

Mr. Mohammed Al-Suwaidi is the Chief Investment Officer for the North and South Americas region, responsible for Qatar Investment Authority’s (QIA) investments across various asset classes in the Americas, and a member of its executive committee.

Mr. Al-Suwaidi previously served as the President of QIA’s U.S. office in New York from 2015 to 2020, where he led the establishment of the office. Notably, this office hosts a team dedicated to supporting QIA in becoming one of the most significant investors in the United States.

Mr. Al-Suwaidi joined QIA in 2010 and has held several roles, including Portfolio Manager for the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT) portfolio, Industrial Investments portfolio, and Head of the Private Equity Funds portfolio.

Before joining QIA, Mr. Al-Suwaidi served as Director of Corporate Banking at Masraf Al Rayan from 2006 to 2010, overseeing both government and real estate sectors.

He also held the position of Financial Analyst at ExxonMobil in Qatar from 2004 to 2006.

Mr. Al-Suwaidi has been a CFA Charterholder since 2013. He earned his MBA from the TRIUM program in 2018 and holds a dual bachelor’s degree in Statistics and Finance from the University of Missouri-Columbia, USA.
