He specializes in covering and analyzing economic and financial developments in Qatar and the wider region, with a focus on their implications for markets, business sectors, and investment. He graduated in Journalism and Media from the University of Damascus in 1994 and began his professional career working for several print publications. He subsequently headed the media office in Syria before moving to Qatar, where he worked at Qatar Radio and Television. He later served as Editor-in-Chief of Al Tijara wal A’mal (Trade and Business) magazine. In 2005, Awad joined CNBC Arabia, continuing his career in economic journalism. He has since worked as the producer and presenter of “Ain Ala Qatar” (Eye on Qatar), covering the evolution of Qatar’s economy and its key developments, from energy and strategic investments to banking, capital markets, real estate, and tourism, as well as economic diversification policies and business competitiveness. His professional expertise spans the production and presentation of television reports on economic and financial affairs, conducting interviews with government officials, policymakers, business leaders, chief executives, and economic experts. His work also involves analyzing financial and monetary data, interpreting economic indicators, and assessing market trends in light of local, regional, and international developments.
