Ammar Samad

Ammar Samad is a seasoned hospitality leader with more than 25 years of international experience and serves as Regional General Manager of Zulal Wellness Resort by Chiva-Som and Jayasom Affiliates. He brings extensive expertise across luxury hospitality, wellness, operations, guest experience, commercial performance and team development.

Under his leadership, Zulal has strengthened its position as a global benchmark for holistic wellness, achieving a 129% increase in Gross Operating Profit, 79% growth in occupancy and guest satisfaction above 95%. He has also championed the integration of Traditional Arabic and Islamic Medicine (TAIM) into innovative, results-driven wellness programmes, blending cultural heritage with modern wellbeing.

A people-first leader, Samad prioritises empowerment, training and career development, fostering a high-performance culture. His leadership has contributed to more than 30 prestigious awards for Zulal, alongside recognition for workplace culture, sustainability and guest experience.

Sustainability is central to his vision, with Zulal achieving Travelife Gold and LEED Silver certifications, reducing carbon emissions by 7.3% and energy use by 7.4%, while advancing mangrove restoration and responsible sourcing.

Beyond the resort, Samad has led more than 107 wellness programmes and works with organisations including Sidra Medicine, Earthna, Qatar University, Visit Qatar and Qatar Airways. A recognised wellness thought leader, he represents Qatar internationally, promoting sustainable tourism, community wellbeing and Qatar National Vision 2030.
