Signature keynote - Cities That Hold Their Value: Livability as an Investment Strategy

Capital moves quickly, but the value of a place depends on whether people choose to stay there. In this keynote, Prof. Carlos Moreno, creator of the “15-Minute City”, argues that livability is one of the strongest foundations of long-term real estate value. That means having homes, work, healthcare, schools, retail and green space within a short walk or ride. He draws on the transformation of Paris and on cities worldwide that have adopted his model to show how planning around proximity creates neighbourhoods that are more resilient, more in demand and more stable over time. For Qatar, as it shapes its next generation of districts, this offers investors and developers a clear lens: the most stable asset is a city people want to live in.
